Tree In Backyard

This was one of my favorite trees in our backyard. You can see the calf barn beside it where our neighbors raised calves for the fair. Once the tree got hit by lightning and that was exciting.

    Neat vantage point--you don't usually see trees from the bottom.

    What happened to the tree once it got struck by lightning?

    The lightning knocked a big branch off the tree.

    It has the advantage of being the only tree around, getting all the sunshine. Beautiful!

    Must have been a pretty tough tree to not start on fire from the lightning.
