Flamingos

Around Ohio

Flamingos

There's nothing quite like seeing a whole bunch of flamingos. In fact, colonies in the wild can be as large as twenty thousand in number. In East Africa, there are even colonies with one million members. Like most birds, flamingos are very social and like to live in groups. As far as flying, they can fly up to thirty-five miles an hour, as far as hundreds of miles a day. They usually fly at night, which makes it unlikely that you will ever see a flamingo flying.

That's a beautiful picture of color and light/dark contrasts.

Were any flamingos flying around at the zoo? People would probably pay to come watch that!

I didn't see any flamingos flying. I don't know why they didn't fly out of the zoo.

The pink-striped feathers look like a bunch of tulips bent over.
